5 Creative Ways To Use Paper This Valentine’s Day
How do you usually celebrate Valentine’s Day? Whether it is a movie night, a party with friends or a romantic evening spent with your significant other, we have 5 paper-based crafts that you can use to impress this Valentine’s Day.
Make Your Own Valentine’s Day Card
February 14th is always a special day where you can show someone just how much you love and feel for them. But why go to the effort of making your own Valentine’s Day card? According to a study from the Journal of Marketing, machine-made products are often of good quality and are relatively cheap, but they are missing a very key ingredient: love. You can read more about this study and how to make your own Valentines Day Card here.

Love Notes – Say It With Paper
To go along with the handmade, personal touches, why not grab some notepaper or even post-it notes and put pen to paper? Not sure what to write? How about cutesy doodles, heart-felt messages, or even date night ideas?
If you have a lot of these notes, why not pop them into envelopes and place them in a box for your partner? This can be shop bought or hand made. IDEA: If you have them, why not put special items in there such as tickets from your days out together or receipts from a fancy restaurant you went to together? Not only is this thoughtful, but if you photocopy your tickets etc. it also allows you both to have these keepsakes and memories.
If you would like to go the extra mile and make your own origami letters, we have the instructions for this here for you.
Love Heart Origami
If you just wanted something simple to go with your gift or flowers, then maybe the love heart origami is for you. IDEA: If you are having a romantic meal at home, you may want to decorate your table with these little love hearts. You can follow the simple steps on our Love Paper Creations Valentines Page.
Heart Paper Flowers
Real flowers are great, but they don’t last forever. Give them the gift of paper by folding it into the shape of a beautiful flower for them to enjoy. You can use this as decoration, a gift, or to decorate your card for them.
Paper flowers are versatile and can come in any shape or size. From floral arches, pointed paper flowers, paper tulips or even a bouquet! Depending on your creative flair and artistic skills, you may want to try your hand at some of these. Not only are they money-savers, but they are more personal as you have taken the time to make them (and they will last a lot longer than a bunch of flowers from the supermarket).
Hosting A Valentines Themed Party
If you are hosting a party or an evening in with friends rather than going out, why not make your own paper-based games? We have a few recommendations below:
DIY Crackers:
Crackers aren’t just for Christmas, get crafting a paper-based pack of crackers and fill them full of things that your friends or partner would like! These are great as a table decoration or just a little bit of light-hearted entertainment between meals.
Trivia Quiz:
How much do you know about your friends and/or your partner? This is a fun game of Mr and Mrs with a twist; you create your own questions! Simply cut up some paper into rectangles or use post-it notes, write your question down and pop them into a bowl or hat. You can then pick them out and give a point to anyone who gets an answer correct. The winner is the team with the most points at the end of the game.
Carnival games are the best but can cost a lot of money to play. This Valentine’s Day, wouldn’t it be fun to make your own games instead?
Whether you are with friends or your special someone, there is something for everyone this Valentine’s Day.
